Ophelia

This painting is called the Ophelia and was painted by John Millais in 1851-52. This painting is from Shakespeare's famous play, Hamlet. It shows the part of the play when Ophelia goes insane with grief over the death of her father and while she's picking flowers for him, she drowns. The painting even has almost every flower that is mentioned in the play. John even hired a model to lie in a bathtub in an antique dress for hours. Until the water got cold and she caught a terrible cold. There is also a mysterious skull-like shape right above Ophelia's feet on the bank of the pond.
